Makongi Farm hosts the Invitro Fertilisation Laboratory for its sister company, Indicus EA Ltd and is also the chief donor station for the facility.
Owing to its good infrastructure and large number of pedigree donor cows, the Indicus Team together with their partners, Invitro Brasil collect oocystes weekly from the cows and mature the embryos in strict sanitary conditions in the lab.
Indicus together with Makongi, leveraging on its reputation in breeding excellence, are looking to carry out the largest heifer breeding program in Africa to enable farmers in Eastern Africa to get access to quality pedigree cattle at favourable prices.
